Volunteers needed for Ability Awareness Day, March 30-31

Awareness Day is a day dedicated to promoting acceptance and understanding among our student community for those with learning differences. Students will rotate through activities that will give them the opportunity to learn and experience what it is like to have a variety of learning or emotional challenges, with a focus on the abilities that all students share.

Ability Awareness Day at College Park will take place on March 30th and 31st in grades three through six. We are looking for parent volunteers to help prepare and run ability stations from 8am – 12noon on those days.

Per all the studies on children, teaching empathy and compassion is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children today and both are on the 40 development assets that lead to a successful development.
